Engagements: Ron & Emily | The Morehead Inn, Charlotte, NC

Charlotte NC Wedding Photographer - Nathan Abplanalp (12)
Ron and Emily’s wedding is coming up in a few months so we took the time we had to photograph an engagement session at their venue, The Morehead Inn in Charlotte, NC. I am over the moon to have the two of them as one of my couples. They have been through more in a year than most couple have in a lifetime and are stronger together than ever before. Nothing is better than seeing triumph over tragedy and a couple’s love and affection help them pass through the trials.

Wedding Reception: Jim & Amy | Foundation for the Carolinas

Bride and Groom Dancing at Foundations for the Carolinas

Often I can feel that a reception feels like more of a party rather than a celebration of the couple joining together. For Jim and Amy however, their family and guests were wholeheartedly about them and were so enthusiastic about their marriage. As with most receptions, the decorations were a main staple to it. For Amy, this was a chance for her to play with all the ideas that she had for her big day. Grays and yellows accentuated by milk glass tableware and in combination with the modern space of The Foundation for the Carolinas nestled in uptown Charlotte, gave a visual design feast for the guests. It was a smorgasbord and all I had to do was point and click.

Wedding Portraits : Jim & Amy | The Foundation for the Carolinas

Groom kisses Bride's shoulder in uptown Charlotte

Certainly Amy and Jim love one another and we had a while between their ceremony and reception to take photos of them inside and on the steps of the First United Methodist Church before heading over to the Foundation for the Carolinas for the reception. One thing that always seems to stick out to me is how attentive Jim is to Amy and their relationship. He looks for ways to make her laugh and feel loved.
