Once the sun sets, you can still use natural light to make some pretty romantic photos, especially if your venue has beautiful colored light like Foundation for the Carolinas.
Wedding Preparations: Jim & Amy
Jim and Amy’s wedding was one of the highlights of my year. From the get go, Amy painted me a picture of her wedding with it’s grays, whites, and yellows. All accentuated by her huge collection of milk glass tablewares. Being a designer herself, she could not wait to dive in and make her vision a reality. Her and Jim are one of my favorite couples as they just love one another, Amy loves Jim’s big heart and vivacious personality while Jim adores Amy and always seeks to make her laugh! Enjoy their preparation photos!

Amy
I love this portrait of Amy. I had Jim over my shoulder complimenting her and singing her praises. They are one of my favorite couples to photograph as they just work together. Jim is incredibly thoughtful and Amy adores him in every way.
Dave & Jesse
Despite rain minutes earlier, the sun broke through right at the end of Dave & Jesse’s wedding and provided some beautiful light for their moment to reflect on their day at the Oaks at Salem in Apex, NC.

Wedding: Emmett & Kacie
Last fall, I had the pleasure of photographing Emmett and Kacie’s Wedding at St Ann’s Catholic Church in Charlotte, NC. I met Kacie through another of my brides, Tiffany a couple years ago and one thing that really stuck with me is her smile, she is just so genuine in her expressions and personality that it is infectious. I met Emmett at another wedding that same year for Erik and Katie, thus proving the the fact that Charlotte is a large city in a small world. I really was quite excited to photograph their wedding due to 1, it being a Catholic wedding (and I can attest to the love and affection that seem to permeate the families of Catholic weddings) and 2, the fact that they are both absolutely genuine people who would give anything for one another. I was not disappointed in the least. I hope that you enjoy the photos!

Engagements: Nate & Rajal
I love when I have couples who rise above challenges that pop up during engagement sessions. For Nate and Rajal’s session in uptown Charlotte, NC, we seemed to be inhibited from photographing at each and every turn by security guards. I felt like I used to when I would skateboard there, sneaking around and trying to dodge the prying an spying eyes that would keep us from making these images. We were lucky enough to have little snippets of time to take a couple images before being shooed off though. Pleading with some employees also helped as well. This is the result, beautiful images of a resilient couple who were so attentive to each other that they did not mind in the slightest all of the walking.
