Rackin’s bridal session was one that I was looking forward to for a long time. She looked stunning in her dress and wore it with the grace and elegance that is not common today. I was so pleased when we discussed the Duke Mansion as the location for the shoot. It is one of those rare places in Charlotte that has the pre 60’s elegance and class that is just not found in today’s architecture. It has a patina that only can come from a structure being there that long and capable hands to care for it. Makeup by the venerable Erin Ashley.

Our good friends Glenn and Erin were married this last weekend, and while I could not be there myself, I was able to photograph Erin in her wedding dress several weeks before her wedding. It was a great opportunity to brave the oncoming storm and make some beautiful art for her. I am so pleased to have been a small part of Erin’s wedding, even if I was not able to attend. The session was held at Banner Elk Winery and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a venue or location.

I love intimate weddings. Seriously, with all of the hubbub that is inherent with a wedding, I do not know why more couples do not opt for them. Houston and Dani are a couple after my own heart. Their wedding was a family affair. It really seemed that it was not just friends attending but family members that were so close it all seemed natural. The day just flowed in a way I wish all wedding days could. Everyone knew where and what needed to happen. It really made it all so seamlessly wonderful. On this cloudy day I bring you a bit of sunshine. Tyler and Kirstie’s sunny wedding was held at Carrigan Farms and featured many elements of their beach styled lives, from the Navy Blues to the Tommy Bahama outfits the guys wore. One of the most beautiful moments was when Tyler approached Kirstie with a blindfold to allow them to touch and speak to one another without him seeing her.
