To round out this week, we have Zack and Sarah’s full blog post, these two were married last weekend in the midst of some of the rainiest weeks I have ever experienced in Charlotte. Luckily, I fear no weather so the wedding turned out amazing (photos from that coming soon). Their engagement session was full of light, laughter, and love, which is really a reflection on their relationship.
Zac & Emily
Zac has been a friend of mine for the last couple years since I photographed the band he is the bassist for, Bruised But Not Broken. He might be the happiest and most passionate person I have ever met in my whole life and it really shows with his love for Emily. He is all about her. Emily is such a compliment for Zac. She is sweet, has great style, and a mean artistic streak. They wanted their engagement photos to be taken in a natural setting that was not ostentatious or overly dramatic (at least from the photos standpoint). With a simple backdrop and them both being very willing subjects, we set out to let our ideas run free. I am so very pleased to be their photographer and their complete trust really shows though in how genuine they are in these photos. Thank you, Emily and Zac!
Zac & Emily
I am a firm believer that the location should reflect the couple. Zac and Emily both love the soft colors and environment that we have here in the south. I wanted to take this photo beyond just them with the tree as a backdrop. Thinking that the two of them could be part of the nature they were in, was the idea. The sunset was dipping just below the tree line and it bathed them in beautiful light. This photo ended up being a sort of hero shot with the two of them looking out towards the light.
Zac & Emily
I am excited to share images from Zac and Emily’s engagement session this week. I love this image especially as it really sets the scene for the rest of the shoot. A wide open field bathed in the glow of a sunset with a couple in love below the hanging branches of an old tree. Perfect.
Bridals: Amy
Another bridal session at the Duke Mansion this week. Amy is definitely one of my favorite brides this year. She, like myself, is a perfectionist and desires for every detail to be in place. Her efforts show in how amazing her Romona Keveza dress looked on her. Her attention to detail really mirrored my own and she worked amazingly with my methodical style of photographing. Makeup and Hair by Lindsey Thorne.

Wedding: Erik & Katie
Engagements: Steven & Chelsea
Steven & Chelsea are one of those couples that you just cannot help but love. They are so full of joy, love, and laughter that it is infectious.
Wedding: Tyler & Kirstie
On this cloudy day I bring you a bit of sunshine. Tyler and Kirstie’s sunny wedding was held at Carrigan Farms and featured many elements of their beach styled lives, from the Navy Blues to the Tommy Bahama outfits the guys wore. One of the most beautiful moments was when Tyler approached Kirstie with a blindfold to allow them to touch and speak to one another without him seeing her.
Wedding: Andrew & Christine
I have been looking forward to sharing Andrew and Christine’s wedding and now the time has come. If you ever have the chance to meet these two, you will walk away amazed by how genuine they are. They are one of the kindest, warmest, and God-glorifying couples I have ever met. They made almost all of the wedding items themselves so their wedding had all the personal touches that reflected them perfectly.
