To round out this week, we have Zack and Sarah’s full blog post, these two were married last weekend in the midst of some of the rainiest weeks I have ever experienced in Charlotte. Luckily, I fear no weather so the wedding turned out amazing (photos from that coming soon). Their engagement session was full of light, laughter, and love, which is really a reflection on their relationship.
Zack & Sarah – pt 1
Zack and Sarah were married last weekend and while we were faced with lots of rain for the wedding day, we had a gorgeous summer’s evening to photograph their engagement session. Wing Haven Gardens, as always, was a magical backdrop for their engagement session.
Masanotti Family
I love family portraits. Being a father myself, I have come to enjoy photographing them even more. A family is one of the most precious things we can have and to be able to capture the interaction between parents and children is amazing. I find this doubly so with a newborn baby. Jay and Jess have been waiting for their own little one for many years and to see their faces light up with joy and adoration for their little girl is something that moved me very deeply. She is one that they have been praying and yearning for for so long that, to have that part of their lives fulfilled, not only brings a profound gladness to them but to those who know them dearly. Jay and Jess, congratulations on your little girl and thank you for allowing me to be there while you celebrated your newfound blessing.
Petrino Family
Photographing photographers is always a tall order and though some may be a bit nervous to do so, I find it exhilarating as they know what will look good for the camera. The Petrinos of Charlotte Photography allowed me to photograph them and their newborn daughter Makenzie in their home. I feel that the photos of new parents interacting with their precious baby are so valuable to them as a family, more than just the posed (if not overposed) photos that we typically see on Pinterest of babies. I really enjoy capturing the genuine love and joy of new parents.
Zac & Emily
Zac has been a friend of mine for the last couple years since I photographed the band he is the bassist for, Bruised But Not Broken. He might be the happiest and most passionate person I have ever met in my whole life and it really shows with his love for Emily. He is all about her. Emily is such a compliment for Zac. She is sweet, has great style, and a mean artistic streak. They wanted their engagement photos to be taken in a natural setting that was not ostentatious or overly dramatic (at least from the photos standpoint). With a simple backdrop and them both being very willing subjects, we set out to let our ideas run free. I am so very pleased to be their photographer and their complete trust really shows though in how genuine they are in these photos. Thank you, Emily and Zac!
Zac & Emily
I am a firm believer that the location should reflect the couple. Zac and Emily both love the soft colors and environment that we have here in the south. I wanted to take this photo beyond just them with the tree as a backdrop. Thinking that the two of them could be part of the nature they were in, was the idea. The sunset was dipping just below the tree line and it bathed them in beautiful light. This photo ended up being a sort of hero shot with the two of them looking out towards the light.
Zac & Emily
I am excited to share images from Zac and Emily’s engagement session this week. I love this image especially as it really sets the scene for the rest of the shoot. A wide open field bathed in the glow of a sunset with a couple in love below the hanging branches of an old tree. Perfect.
Will & Rackin
I love this image. the fact that there is a little motion blur that gives the photo an ambiance and enhances the feeling that Will and Rackin are moving forward as husband and wife. The little Fuji x100s is an amazing camera for capturing these kinds of moments.
