Ann Springs Close Greenway is a great location I have shot at many times over the years. A sprawling area of trails, fields, barn buildings, and forests. So when Trevor and Alana asked for suggestions on the location for their engagement shoot, Ann Springs fit what they were looking for perfectly. I remember meeting Trevor when he was 13 years old when him and I were both on the same skateboard ministry team. He was one of the wildest people I had ever met and had an insatiable thirst for Coca Cola and skateboarding, to the point where both were wrecking his body. Soon afterwards I met Alana as her and Trevor began dating. The skateboard team has since dissolved, Trevor has slowed down on the soda intake before it dissolved him, and both Trevor and Alana have been together through it all. I am blessed to know both of them and see them grow together.
Zack and Sarah – pt 2
To round out this week, we have Zack and Sarah’s full blog post, these two were married last weekend in the midst of some of the rainiest weeks I have ever experienced in Charlotte. Luckily, I fear no weather so the wedding turned out amazing (photos from that coming soon). Their engagement session was full of light, laughter, and love, which is really a reflection on their relationship.
Zack & Sarah – pt 1
Zack and Sarah were married last weekend and while we were faced with lots of rain for the wedding day, we had a gorgeous summer’s evening to photograph their engagement session. Wing Haven Gardens, as always, was a magical backdrop for their engagement session.
Zac & Emily
Zac has been a friend of mine for the last couple years since I photographed the band he is the bassist for, Bruised But Not Broken. He might be the happiest and most passionate person I have ever met in my whole life and it really shows with his love for Emily. He is all about her. Emily is such a compliment for Zac. She is sweet, has great style, and a mean artistic streak. They wanted their engagement photos to be taken in a natural setting that was not ostentatious or overly dramatic (at least from the photos standpoint). With a simple backdrop and them both being very willing subjects, we set out to let our ideas run free. I am so very pleased to be their photographer and their complete trust really shows though in how genuine they are in these photos. Thank you, Emily and Zac!
Engagements: Will & Lyall
Engagements: Nate & Rajal
I love when I have couples who rise above challenges that pop up during engagement sessions. For Nate and Rajal’s session in uptown Charlotte, NC, we seemed to be inhibited from photographing at each and every turn by security guards. I felt like I used to when I would skateboard there, sneaking around and trying to dodge the prying an spying eyes that would keep us from making these images. We were lucky enough to have little snippets of time to take a couple images before being shooed off though. Pleading with some employees also helped as well. This is the result, beautiful images of a resilient couple who were so attentive to each other that they did not mind in the slightest all of the walking.
